Talk about overkill and a completely over the top reaction/punishment for forgetting to pay for a $5 sandwich. Sometimes people lack the common sense to not eat food before you pay for it, but it’s an even bigger travesty to have a pregnant detained for 4 hours, her child taken to child services and husband arrested. A $5 sandwich mishap probably cost the taxpayers tens of thousands of dollars.
